STRATEGY
Before you start a business...
by Alan Knott-Craig: Successful entrepreneur and best-selling author, chairman of HeroTel, a wireless broadband provider, and founder of Project Isizwe.
Find a potential customer.
Ask her what problems she has i.e. no money for funerals.
Pick a problem that you think you can solve i.e. funeral insurance.
Ask her what she’ll pay you to solve that problem.
Do your business plan, if you can make a profit, start.
But don’t do anything until you’ve done the first part.
It all starts with finding a customer that’s willing to pay you to solve a problem.
